YouthScape Go Grants are different from many other youth granting programs in Calgary because they engage ‘marginalized’ youth. Through these projects, YouthScape Calgary is taking the lead to work with some of the most ‘marginalized’ of all: street-involved young people.

This group poses higher funding risks due to their lack of stability and high levels of transience, but Go Grant projects also provide unique learning opportunities, and the chance to make significant impacts in young people’s lives! More...

For others, it reminds them of something they are trying hard to overcome, like living in an area that some might call “a rough end of town”. We’ve realized that this word can be powerful, if misunderstood or misused, regardless of what we intended it to mean. Communities for Children in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan has been working to ensure that the voices of youth are heard in our city, and that their wisdom is shared with our citizens. We are engaging and empowering young people, especially those on the fringe, to provide valuable skills and learning opportunities. YOUTHSCAPE HRM’S MARKET PLACE: WHERE EVERYONE IS WELCOMED AND HEARD!


In 2007, over 40 people (mostly youth) from different backgrounds came together in the Halifax Regional Municipality to discuss diversity at YouthScape's second MarketPlace. MarketPlace events are YouthScape HRM's innovative new strategy to create a supportive and fun space that encourages inclusivity, youth/adult partnerships, and meaningful engagement of the community. At a MarketPlace, young people are front and center. They plan and prepare forthe event ahead of time and together they share the facilitation of the evening's conversations through dynamic activities that ensure everyone has a say.
